Job Summary

Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Advertising, a Graphic Designer is an experienced ad designer who will create client ad designs for Project Home’s magazine and Resource Guide, while also acting as the point of contact between the Sales Consultant, management, and the client. Graphic Designer will work directly with clients to design appealing and creative ads ensuring clients have the best possible chance of success. Under minimal supervision, provides high level of support to senior management, sales staff, and advertisers. Graphic Designer will be expected to project a professional company image through in-person, electronic and phone interaction. Graphic Designer will utilize a consultative approach to develop long-term relationships. Graphic Designer stays informed of marketing and design trends, changing customer requirements, and communicates them to management.

Job Duties

  • Work directly with advertisers to design creative and successful ads for Project Home’s magazine and Resource Guide

  • Create the layout for Project Home Magazines and annual Resource Guide

  • Assist in the proofing of advertising and marketing materials

  • Maintain regular contact with new and existing advertisers

  • Digital design using Photoshop, Adobe and/or Illustrator

  • Maintain general graphic design and web content

  • Maintain e-mails, corresponds, and coordinates with advertisers on ad proofs and other general administrative tasks

  • Develop knowledge and understanding of Project Home advertisers’ changing business needs and present them to the Account Executives

  • Maintain accurate records of all drafts and final ads, including emails with advertisers

  • Respond to general inquiries from consumers, advertisers, and community

Requirements

  • Proven success as a graphic designer, preferably in print marketing

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience using Photoshop, Adobe and/or Illustrator

  • Ability to take an advertiser’s vision and convert it into an effective print advertisement

  • Positive attitude, detail, and customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability

  • Maintains accurate data entry and reports in database as directed by manager

  • Uses various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports

  • Utilizes internet and other resources to complete assigned projects

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent

  • Fluency in English; Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred

  • Reliable transportation

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office

  • Familiarity with CRM practices along with ability to build productive business professional relationships

  • Highly motivated with the ability to successfully work under a deadline

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Prioritizing and time management skills

  • Relationship management skills and openness to feedback

  • Establishes collaborative relationships, both internally and externally
